Traditional Funeral Service followed by Cremation
Many families find meaning and beauty in a traditional funeral service. With a traditional service combined with cremation, you can still choose to have a final viewing, visitation or wake, and a funeral service. However instead of proceeding to a cemetery, the funeral will be followed by cremation. Depending on your wishes, the cremated remains may be either returned to your family in an urn, scattered, buried or interred in a columbarium.
Memorial Service
The funeral service can be held in a church or any other venue the family chooses. We work with our families to design a service that honors their loved one with stories, music, or scripture. We can assist with finding an officiant for the funeral, if needed.
Graveside Service
Graveside cremation services are similar to traditional ground burials, as everyone is at the burial of the cremated remains and honor your loved one through other meaningful tributes. A graveside or committal service is typically held immediately following the funeral service but it can also be a small intimate gathering of those closest to you.
Sometimes a person will say, “Oh, just cremate my body. I don’t want a service and I don’t want anyone looking at my body.” This comment is often made when a person doesn’t want their death to be a burden to others. It can also stem from wanting to avoid the idea of death and not wanting people to feel uncomfortable. Scattering is when you spread your loved one's cremated remains in a memorial garden, cemetery, over water, or another significant location. You also can choose to scatter some of the cremated remains and retain the rest in an urn for interment, keepsakes or another form of disposition.
